Here's the solution:
Yes you can ride around with the 02 disabled with our without a pig helper.
Yes you can install a PC and add the autotune with the 02 unplugged and find the PC's 02 'position*.'
Yes you can run a 13/12+ AFR number of your choice and let autotune clean up the numbers, save and run that map.
OR:
Yes you just buy a bung from a muffler shop/on line, weld/braze the bung at an angle to clear the frame so the position has a slight 'drain angle*'... so as to keep the condensation from settling [horizontal] and rusting out the 02.
Yes you can run without a PC with the 02 back in the loop with the bung in the Hindle somewhere.
Yes you can pick a header tube if the collector has no room for the bung's angle.
No you cannot plug the 02 in and let it dangle in the air; it will just code as if unplugged.
* = means the same thing as far as condensation integrity.
